Overall, the book is…fine. I love Dungeon Crawler Carl, and was so excited for Operation Bounce House that I pre-ordered it. I just finished and I’m pretty disappointed.
The characters mostly just seem to be there, are directed what to do, given everything they need, and the story ends.
If you want a quick, light read, you might like it fine. if you’re looking for something that feels like it has real stakes, character growth, defining moments, or anything you might find in DCC, Red Rising, or other popular books in the genre, you can pass on this and be just fine.
