Let’s face it DCC has revolutionized LitRPG as well as invigorated and inspired many lesser writers to jump in and join the fun.
Honestly though, as much as I love Carl, Princess Donut and the entire cast, the storyline is so thick with complexity and overlapping insanity that it has just become a bit much for me.
I listen to each book twice, just because of the madness and insanity. At times it’s uplifting but much of the time it is repetitive and unsatisfying. What further level of unhinged AI madness can you absorb? IDK about anyone but me but as I said I am getting worn down by it all.
I can’t even imagine the storyboard that MD has to try and keep track of all the relationships and associated craziness of the crawl. I applaud him and hope he manages to pull all these threads into a satisfying ending, but I have my doubts.
Of course I will buy the next book in there series and hope for the best. But I will say that this was my least favorite book of the series thus far.
