The first book tried to be Starship Troopers, but this one tried to be Dead Space. It was enjoyable enough to finish, so it gets a passing score… but it was poorly constructed.
2 dimensional characters, repetitive dialogue that felt like a padded essay, tonal changes in every chapter. I enjoyed the story, but the writing was, sadly, in need of a good editor.
