I disliked that Sybil‘s voice when she was in her early 70s sounded like a lady in her 90s. It took a long time for the letters to become interesting, and I almost gave up. I am not sure why we had to know so much about her gardening club problems, or her insistence on taking the courses at the U of Maryland. I’m glad that things finally came together to make it interesting. I’m not seeing a moral to the story, just a story of one’s life, loves, and regrets. It was good that she had joy at the end of her life.
