The story itself is good, tried and tested idea, of someone rebuilding something that’s evil and probably shouldn’t be rebuilt.
But I struggled with caring about that characters and the plots of the villagers just didn’t make sense.
Was also put off by the would they have done this or that if I was a man, or the would they have said that if I wasn’t a woman. But then referring to a group of workmen as the boys.
Fantastic narration though, really engaging.
