I have a love hate relationship with this authors work. Some I love some not, but many are the sort of horror tha just makes you uncomfortable. Gross and disquieting. Not my favorite sort of thing being a little neurotic about dirty icky things but I read him anyway because his work is unique and fascinating. Just be aware it can be genuinely unsettling.
