I usually don’t write reviews — please bear with me for all the critique that follows, I grew up in Germany… the folks from the US and UK should keep that in mind.

This audiobook is one of the most entertaining fictional stories I’ve ever listenend to, it deserves the highest praise. The narrator does an exceptional performance for every single character and I hope he will receive more material like this to work with in the future.

Now while I would recommend this book to a lot of people (for very different reasons) the overall “getting powerful” theme, together with luck and having things work out smoothly for you stands out the most… plus the harem, of course. It beats any guy’s wet fantasy.

The main character is a good guy, he really is… but he’s a bad man. In a way this story serves as a great example of how “good guy’s” turn into “evil men” by unchecked power alone. It’s too much for the mind to bear if it lacks the spiritual development necessary to have a code of ethics carved into one’s being.

The author worked all fantastic “what if I could get that”- scenarios into three marvellous books, with a logical conclusion for a guy who grew up in today’s consciousness. Let’s just say “revenge”, “the justification of wrongdoing” and (as the author himself mentioned) “everybody believes themselves to be the good guy” find their representation in this story.

What can be done about it? Well, besides the actual spiritual development… a long step by step process… nothing, really. How can you get to Rome, faster, on foot? There is no “faster” — you still have to walk there. The only importance is to stay the course and keep walking.
