Okay, I’ve been eyeing this book for years now. The past 3 months I had multiple friends recommend this to me, and one specifically pushing towards audio book. I am happy I chose to listen to this book, instead of the physical copy right now. The voice acting is amazing, and I was shocked to find out all those voices were just one person. Well done there, pure talent. The story, a weird alien hunger games scenario, but in a dungeon and dragons like world concept inside “the games.” I am not big into sci-fi at all, I am big into fantasy, but I will say the mix of both, which diluted it to just fantasy (aliens are just fancy dnd npcs). Which I’m 100% okay with honestly. The bond between Carl & Princess, my favorite, their banter, perfection. The npcs, witty, unique, interesting. I loved this whole book. Not a thing I could say should’ve been worked on. I don’t say this often about any book.
Cat person recommend. My new favorite book, I haven’t had a new favorite in years.
I am now listening to book three as I write this. My husband said he would commit to an audible series with me, and this is what we chose, and he asks to listen to it more than I do lol. (We are buddy listening, and he isn’t into reading at all and he’s in love with this series as much as I am.)
