Read like a young adult novel written by a young adult. I’ve been told it gets better a few books in, but that seems like a bit too much to ask of the reader, to sit through the same millennial joke (“So that just happened…”) for three or four novels until it gets interesting.
Would’ve been a competent short story.
How this goes on for several novels I can’t even begin to imagine.
