As someone who’s played D&D and similar games since the 1980’s I was intrigued by the theme and idea. Plus, I love cats! With all the hype surrounding the series I figured it was worth checking out. While it isn’t terrible, it really does simply reach the level of OK. There’s some humor that hits and a few moments when empathy is created but in general I found myself ready for the book to be done with before it was. I didn’t go in expecting high literature, but was still left pretty disappointed. The narration was super well done at least.
