As an avid reader and player of CRPG’s for over forty years, I find the litrpg genre a natural extension of two of my main hobbies.I really enjoyed the first book, but the second book, not so much.I have often pondered the question of artificial consciousness (AC), also known as machine consciousness (MC), and enjoy books that address this question.I was surprised, having thought myself well read, that there is a ” Harem Genre “, and what was implicit in the first book is explicit in the second.this detracted greatly from any enjoyment derived from the book.It is so off-putting, that I lowered my rating from four, to three stars. I seldom read two books of a trilogy without reading the third, but the unwanted harem tropes make it a close call.
