Ripley and some of her classmates find themselves having to use skills honed through hardship and disaster preparedness. After a massive solar flare knocks out power and electronics they must adapt to a quickly changing social landscape. When the society’s motto becomes survival of the fittest, Ripley, a college student seeks safety and a way to get back home.

Sunfall is a societal collapse drama and D. Gideon does it well. The book seems geared mostly to young adults, but it’s a fairly broad story regarding characters. So there is definitely something for everyone in this audiobook. I didn’t particularly care for the cliffhanger ending. It felt like the story stopped abruptly to me. Still, I can’t wait to see where this story goes.

This nearly 11-hour audiobook is a dual narration by Kevin Pierce, one of my favorite narrators for dystopian stories, and Becket Royce, in the first audiobook that I’ve listened to from her. Both narrators did a fantastic job and the story just flowed. The pacing by both narrators was perfect.

This audiobook was given to me at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review, thanks, Audiobook Boom!
