I finally understand the hype surrounding this story and I truly believe that this Audiobook made the story 10x better. Jeff Hays truly was the right narrator to bring this story to life. And the production company did such an amazing job of bringing this world to life with the sound effects and other voices. I truly felt like I was a camera watching Carl and Princess Doughnut in the Dungeon that I simply could not get enough.
This story is pure chaos, and I just wanted more and more. I loved how the story unfolds and how each character interacts with one another. I was over the moon excited when Princess Doughnut is given status as a Crawler herself and she’s given a voice. The inflection and accent for Doughnut was pure perfection. I truly believe most cats would sound like Doughnut and I love her flair for the dramatics.
Carl is a fabulous MMC who very much gives me John McClane vibes. He entered the Dungeon in his underwear and a leather jacket without shoes. I love that he has been running around two levels in this get up and now it’s a continuous joke since at this point it would be weird for him to find pants. I loved his thought processes and interactions with others. I am truly addicted to this story and I’m excited to see how the next level plays out.
