This was definitely different from the other omegaverse books I’ve listened to, and I think that novelty helped keep me engaged even though it was VERY short and light on plot.
I received this audiobook ARC through StoryOrigin, and honestly it felt written specifically for readers who want fast-paced fated mates energy without a huge emotional build-up. You’re getting:

• Insta-love
• Knotting 🌶️
• Fated mates
• Protective alpha energy
The chemistry worked really well for me. The attraction and connection between them felt believable within the world and trope setup. My biggest issue was honestly that the story was so short that I never fully felt like I knew the characters deeply enough to get emotionally attached.
The pacing was SUPER fast — almost to the point where I wished there had been a little more plot or world-building to balance the spice. But for readers looking for a quick binge-y omegaverse read, that may actually be a positive.
The narration unfortunately didn’t elevate it for me. The narrator mostly just read the book straight through without much performance or emotional variation, and after listening to stronger audiobook acting lately, this one felt noticeably flatter. It honestly made me think an AI narrator would have sounded very similar — except at least a real narrator got paid for it 😅
Emotionally this didn’t hit hard, but I also don’t think that was the goal. This felt more like a quick spicy escape than an emotionally immersive story.
