Almost quit this right within the first few pages because i I figured it was definitely not something I would’ve picked up if I had known. I like fantasy and adventure, but I like it to be a little bit distant from our modern society. Like the character shouldn’t be American or European or whatever that is actually existing here on this planet, so no references to our modern culture and the like
II was right on the edge of just stopping and finding something else, but I decided to stick it because sometimes I’m wrong, sometimes it gets good. And for a handful of chapters, I thought that was what happened, but then it sync down and back into drudgery.
I based this purchase on fact that it was a very popular series. I’ve made that mistake before and didn’t learn. Everyone’s got their own taste, and you might like it but me personally I won’t be continuing with this series.
