If you could sum up The Defiant One in three words, what would they be?
Imaginative, sexy and fun!
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the entire story. The hero was smart, handsome and capable, but with a very real obstacle to overcome. The heroine was, in her own eyes, less than perfect, but with a huge heart and loved animals. Although neither was interested in a relationship, the author used a very interesting ‘motivator’ and employed the hero’s matchmaking older brother to help the situation along.
Have you listened to any of David Stifel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened to Mr. Stifel’s narration of the first two books in this series. This third book is his best so far!! His performance of the wry, self-assured, aristocratic matchmaking brother, Lucien, is absolutely perfect. He excels at emotionality and pacing a story. I can’t wait to listen to the fourth book!!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wanted to listen in one sitting, yes, but the book was almost 12 hours long, so was not able to.

This book was a lot of fun! Having already read the entire series, I was very familiar with the characters and loved hearing them performed.
