One reviewer compared this series to Chaos Seeds: The Land. It doesnt quite stack up for me, but I did enjoy “The Land of the Undying.” Book 1 of this series features a naive apocolypse as the root cause of uploading into a game. Novel, even for 2026. If you look past pretty much every survival detail and grant the characters great leeway in their personal choices (some details of which I suspect were altered for young readers), then it’s easy to get into the real world zombie vibe that dominates the first 12 chapters or so. The last 30% of the book holds more LitRPG, so look forward to that. Im hoping Book 2 features more fantasy world and less real-world plot.
