I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Space Marines or Space Pirates? Either way, I enjoyed the story. As others have pointed out, it was a but slow at first but it does pick up after a bit. It raises an interesting topic. What happens with lifelong soldiers when the war is over? They get into trouble and do bad things….

I didn’t get surprised by any plot twists, but after the fighting truly started, it at least kept my interest. The narrator was really good, though, and I think that helped.
