The Correspondent by Virginia Evans was such a beautiful and heartfelt read…

I loved that it wasn’t written in the standard “novel” format, but through letters between characters. That made it feel more personal… more intimate… like you were being let into the quiet parts of someone’s life.

Through Sybil’s story, I saw so much that could relate to all of our lives… love, loss, regret, forgiveness, loneliness, and the hope that maybe it’s never too late to reconnect or begin again.

It also made me want to take up written letters again, especially between friends. Words are immortal… and there is something so meaningful about taking the time to write down what we feel, what we remember, what we appreciate, or even what we need to say before it’s too late.

We can convey so much more in meaningful messages to those we care about… and even sometimes to people we don’t really know.

Penmanship feels like such a lost art form… and this book was a beautiful reminder of why it still matters.
