This was my first epistolary novel, and I’ll admit — I was skeptical at first. I wasn’t sure this format would hold my attention, but I was quickly drawn in.

The main character is not one you would typically love, but she feels like a reflection of someone many of us know and love in real life. It took me some time to warm up to her. That, in itself, was a reminder that sometimes the people who come across as distant or unfriendly may simply be carrying pain we cannot see.

There were multiple moments that brought me to tears. I especially appreciated the personal reflection the book sparked within me — about relationships, assumptions, grace, and the unseen burdens people carry.

Well done. I’ve just concluded the book, and I plan to sit with these feelings for a bit before starting the next.
