Piper James pens another delightful novel set in her “Branston Bandits” series, a sports romance with lots of humor, heart, and heat. Roxy is a waitress and bakes and sells cookies on the side, with dreams of opening her own shop one day. Miles is eating dinner with friends at the restaurant where she works and he can not keep his eyes off of her, so he makes a move on her, and she agrees to meet him after her shift and the two have a steamy one-night-stand. Roxy did not know that he played football or that they had mutual friends in common until they both saw each other again while visiting those friends, Tessa and Riggs, from the first book. She was not expecting to see him again and having friends in common complicates things, so they decide to only be friends. But there is undeniable chemistry between them and they could only deny each other for so long and they agree to be friends with benefits. What could go wrong with that? There is never a dull moment in this book and the writing, plot and world building are terrific, as are the character growth and development. I thought these two were great together and for each other. Piper James, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
