This story is hilarious. It gives the vibe of a hockey locker room humor plus 13 year old boys plus military nerds all mushing together to create a story. There are some moment of true heartfelt care for Carl as he has moments of remembrance of his past; his ex, his dad, his mom, his military years, him trying to plan a way to still donut.
My husband and I immersive read it with both the physical book (hardback) and the kindle version while listening – surprisingly, there are moments when 1 or 2 don’t match up. But it’s little blips. Nothing serious.
