This guy shouldn’t be writing a memo on a post-it note little less a series of books. His “story” is nothing more than a constant stream of over explained recommendations of how to justify dropping one’s moral compass in order to “survive”, a concept that I think most people understand and accept, but this guy can’t get off of the subject. The constant badgering on how to protect one’s possessions, set up a defensive/security protocol and how to prepare for self sufficiency is overkill, especially when calling out specifics on weapons and supplies. It takes away from what could be a decent storyline, but not as much as his failed attempts at “subtle” humor. This guy’s “humor”, and I use that term loosely, is firmly based around plays on words (think 13 year old boy) and bodily function/form jokes. It was funny once or twice, but it got really old really fast. Combine that with the overkill of military catch phrases and overused stereotypes (read weaknesses based on age and gender) plus the annoying voice influctions of the narrator (eee-emmm-peeeeeee) and it’s the perfect storm of awful. The only plus is that these two old men, the terrible author and the under-skilled narrator, are a perfect match. Other than that this is just a train wreck of a series. Don’t do it.
