The standard audio book IS as good as everyone says. And the narrator sounds like Kronk, from The Emporer’s New Groove.
I can’t justify this being a 5 star book because its only the beginning.
Carl seems unrelatable and bland for the first chapter or so, but the more time I spent in his mind- the more he grew on me. He’s just a normal guy with a normal existance who is thrown into a paranormal situation.
(Now that I think about it, were we even told what he did for work? There’s definitely a dark, sad back story thats slowly being revealed, too.)
Donut is exactly worth the hype that reviewees have been giving her.
However, I’m very much ready for a solid secondary character to enter the group.
While I can’t claim this is a life altering book series, I’m absolutely tuned in and ready for the next episode to start.
