Went into this hearing great things, but with no context at all and loved it!
Ive never come across a fantasy book with quite the approach to character developemnt that this one does. Sometimes I wondered why we were taking so much time to flesh out little things with certain people, but it makes sense as the book goes! The characters feel so human and their struggles feel real and rich. The connection felt to these characters is real!
The power system and worldbuilding is also really cool. Elemental bending system similar to Avatar, but different enough to provide a fresh take.
Not quite enough here to be 5* for me, but still enjoyable and I recommend!
