It almost seemed as if the author put all of the characters in the book on a dartboard and lobbed a dart at one of them to decide who was the murderer. The whole thing made no sense. The main villain in this book is the detective’s supervisor, who is a completely cardboard character. It did not help that a good portion of the book was written from the point of view of a character who was mentally disturbed. Those parts were very hard to follow and became tedious. And is it remotely possible that people spend that much time drinking tea?
