This whole series feels like a self insert fantasy fanfic written by a 12 year old who’s only media consumption is Family Guy. “Jokes” are flat and I can count on one hand how many times I laughed through the whole book. As of this review I’m in book 6 (promised a friend I’d read through..) and while the series has gotten better, comparatively, it’s still not very good. I have no clue what the end goal is or why what we’re doing matters. Don’t buy in to the hype, go ahead and skip this one.
