I LOVE Luna Mason books and I’ve yet to listen to any that weren’t anything less than amazing…but I couldn’t finish this one and I hate so much that I couldn’t. It takes A LOT for me to DNF a book and this time it wasn’t the storyline. I wanted to finish it so badly. I just couldn’t get passed the female narrator. The mmc is Irish mafia but since its dual narration (which usually doesn’t bother me) her male voice had NO Irish accent and not even a good male voice on top of that. Her female narration is fine. She does better when its a duet narration. The male narrator did a great job though and I really enjoyed his chapters. I almost wish he had just done the whole book as single narration. It really bothers me that I couldn’t finish it because I was really invested in seeing how Finn’s story played out. I was really looking forward to his book since book 1. I just couldn’t take her chapters seriously and it started to really annoy me. I made it through half of the book and just couldn’t handle it anymore. If you can get past her narration I’m sure the book itself is amazing. On to the next book of the series and I’m hoping the narration is better or I’m afraid I won’t be able to finish the series. 😞
