I am a person who is deeply impacted by the books I read (or listen to). This story caused me to reflect on my life and the people who are central to it. The writing and the expert performance of narration brought moments of both laughter and tears. I came through the story with the desire to be a little better.
I must admit, my emotional experience with The Correspondent was most certainly influenced by the timing of my listening, which happened to be over Mother’s Day weekend. I appreciated the beautiful deep characters and their complicated relationships with one another. This will likely be a story that stays with me- one that I imagine I will reflect on again and again.
