I believe that I gave this story a good solid try. I listened to a full 11 hours but am still not even the tiniest bit invested in any of the characters.

The plot is one that has been used so many times already. And that’s fine- IF you fill it with solid characters.

Yes, A familiar world and story can be re-used IF you fill it with strong, new characters. Characters who are well written, show development or an arch of some kind. They just cannot be flat, overused characters thrown into a plot that we’ve already read many times before.

But that’s just my opinion. I bought the audio book because it was on sale for about 9 dollars and it came with over 30 hours of listening time so I took the risk. I wish I could return the title if we’re being honest.

For real tho- maybe I’m simply not the target audience for this one. Maybe you’ll love it. If it interests you- why not give it a try and by doing so- help support the arts by supporting this author. Your call.
