The beginning was strange, no introduction of characters or physical setting. When I realized that 2 foreign criminals were kidnapping a woman from a mid-sized American airport without ANYONE noticing, I rolled my eyes and groaned. Seriously?

The author created entertaining suspense and action segments, but gave almost NO background information on Colby or the other men of the Titan group. It was difficult to care about characters who were ghosts. With the exception of Colby’s dedication to his adopted daughter, his personality was never explained or developed.

Mia, the main female character, was surprisingly strong, smart and resilient – not like the boring, submissive & brainless bimbos so popular in recent fiction. Mia (psychologist) kept trying to rescue herself, even though she was scared and overwhelmed. Although she had been horribly abused as a child, Mia was a brave survivor, not a victim.

I also appreciated that Colby and all the Titan operatives were kind and respectful to women, not macho alpha jerks. The story had great potential, if only the author had spent more words describing the Titan team and less about the sociopathic criminals. I would definitely try another book by CH.
