I just finished Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 1, and all I can say is wow. This is one of those rare books that completely lives up to the hype.
Going in, I thought it would be a fun, lighthearted adventure. Instead, I got an action-packed story that had me laughing out loud one minute and genuinely invested in the characters the next. Carl is a fantastic protagonist—just an ordinary guy trying to survive in a completely insane situation. And Princess Donut? She absolutely steals the show. I never thought a talking cat could become one of my favorite characters in a book, but here we are.
What impressed me most was how creative the world is. The dungeon, the monsters, the quests, and the dark humor all come together perfectly. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going, it surprised me. The pacing is relentless, and I found myself constantly saying, “Just one more chapter.”
If you enjoy fantasy, science fiction, gaming, or simply great storytelling, I highly recommend giving this book a chance. It was funny, exciting, emotional, and incredibly entertaining from beginning to end.
Easy 5 out of 5 stars. I immediately bought the next book because there was no way I was stopping after that ending.
