Crossbreed Borderlands with D&D, Deadpool, Solo-leveling/Sword art Online and internet memes and you get this Dungeon survival with sci-fi overtones. Some of the parts were so funny they made my weeb doomscrolling 22 year old coworker squirm. Matt Dinnamin has a white knuckle grasp on pop culture and modern comedy, and Jeff Hays has a legendary narration, so many characters and impressions I think Matthew Mercer would be jealous. This book is your foot in the door, I’m starting the next book right away. Its not all wacky, there are beautiful moments of humanity and a spectrum of emotion with layers of mystery. Its as if Dinnamin is the Dungeon master and you have the opportunity to put the clues together. Enjoy!
