I found this book because the narrator did a live stream on TikTok narrating the book and it was so good, I knew I wanted to pick up the book. After hearing the story again, I enjoyed it and am excited for the next book but Leola did get on my nerves on some parts…
A few unexpected twists in the finale. Absolutely brilliant writing. Honestly, this entire series should be the next Netflix home run. I only wish there could be another book or two.
Personally I love the premise of a group of stranded people. I love reading about how they decide things, seeing the characters personaliies emerge and shift in stressful circumstances, and the choices they make to survive. I liked the idea, but the execution wasn’t great. The female narrator sounded angry and stiff the whole time. Then again, the FMC was pretty negative. The whole story was VERY repetitive. The premise of the book was splendidly adventurous, and the author puts apparently extensive research into the life of Cleopatra to excellent use. This was an exciting story revolving around cleopatra and hidden messages if you love anything Egyptian you’ll love this listen! Very good narration also!
