The gruesome details around chemical weapons use and torture scenes were a little too lurid for me. I listen to or read many books with violent themes but this went beyond exciting or harrowing and into disturbing.

Set in America of today. It highlights the divisions amongst Americans. If something truly gets bad will we pull together?
This book was not nearly as gripping as past books. Not looking forward to the series, as I normally am. A lot is lost, with this new narrator. I don’t care for his reading. Definitely a loss for the author. He was one of my favorites.

Gripping and right paced spy novel that is believable and exciting. Characters are well formed and the lines between good and bad reflect reality in their fuzziness. Can’t wait to read more!

This series did something I never thought could be accomplished – the dark MMC Quinton transforms throughout the series and you actually are hoping he gets his happy ending with the FMC Aspen.
