I’m giving this book 2.75 stars… It was just an okay book. The father daughter situation was kind of weird, and wished it went more into that relationship.. but you get what you get… i suppose…
Upon reading a synopsis of the story I was disinclined to listen to the book. Matchmaking is not high on my list of interests. Once I did read the first book in the series, I realized it was very humorous, and I have found myself laughing out loud on occasion. I rarely do so when..
but the narration almost killed finishing the book. Ms Hickman’s performance was good for Maddy’s character. However her voice for the men and other characters was like listening to Minnie Mouse trying to perform. Might have been better if Mr De Bruyne narrated alone or perhaps the performance would have been better in duet format…
The plot and and quirky charactersake for a good listen. The narrator for me detracted from the enjoyment. She sounds like a young woman due to a rather high pitched voice which also makes it difficult to provide a different voice for each character. Males lack a deeper tenor, and many of the females sound..
this is a cute story. definitely one to read if you are looking for a quick read. easy to follow. plot twist was decent.
The story started off pretty good, but it was spoiled by the little girl voice of the reader. The main character is an adult woman not a little girl. The story ended up hanging with no solution. These are the two reasons I rated the book as I did. The ending was very, very disappointing.‼️
This isn’t my normal genre. Lately, I don’t normally go for cozy mysteries, but I am having a lot of fun with this! I like the fact that it has low drama and is a comfortable listen. I find the stories engaging and entertaining, the characters enjoyable, and the narrator good. Note: I listened to..
I usually like the cozy mysteries but between the narrator’s voice and the poor story line, not my choice
Take this with a grain of salt as I only listened to about two hours of this book. It felt a little “preachy” and the attempt at humor fell flat for me. I received this as a promo from freeaudiobooks.com in exchange for an honest review.
