As a fluffy cozy, it’s not so bad, and the ghosts are entertaining, but if your familiarity with horses, horse racing, the Kentucky Derby and Louisville is anything deeper than “I think I saw like five minutes of coverage on NBC once and could maybe find Kentucky on a map with names” give this one..

I almost quit this book from the very beginning because of the narrator. Paranormal cozies aren’t really my thing, but strip all that away and it’s a decent mystery…it’s just the performance….every male character sounds like a nasally creep. Very off-putting.

I like the characters and I enjoyed the book but without the involvement I had in earlier ones. The plot feels really underdeveloand it may have to do with the lack of the dog show threads of the earlier books.
