Great story advancement Great character development and great use of lesser known side characters! I would go all 5 stars but for my dislike of reality television and Fortnite in general but the use in the story plot was not a total turnoff.
This has a solid story and you definitely want to know what happens next. However the author goes so far out of their way to make every female character the boss babe that don’t need no man architype. This picks up a few weeks after the end of the last book to help with the timeline and moving the plot forward. A decent number of familiar characters are getting the spotlight, showing great development for the game and real world. I loved the detective work, the wild goose chases, the characters development, but…I was disappointed by the ending of the story. If the solution with Malantha was stated in the beginning, we’d have no story. Also taking directions from the memories of a leader that’s no longer there seemed an inadequate solution. Again, maxed out my volume, and still had a hard time hearing the narrator. Otherwise, the story is still good, as usual. However, the writer seems to like the word,“understatement” a lot.
