I really enjoy the work of this author but was disappointed with the excess verbiage in this one. The editors should have cut at least 30% from the book. It became even worse in audiobook format. The romance section was quite juvenile for these particular protagonists. The details of ASW were interesting and the characters..
Rather than a real, cohesive plot, this is instead four tales of eldritch horror in a plot-like framework. It was still enjoyable, but I might not have bought it had I known.

I loved the historical aspects of the story in this as well as the author’s other books. The only thing I don’t care for is the incest themes – but otherwise very enjoyable.
