Loved the story but the narrator ‘s Ssssssss’s drove me nuts! Thank heavens I’m a die hard Bentley Little fan!
Though it does have its problems, here we have a fun YA fantasy tale with strong, well developed characters and a simplified WoT-eske plot. David Stifel gives us a solid audio performance with a good selection of voices. His female voices are better than a lot of male narrators, but his vocal inflections do leave..
This was a strange book but it was interesting, something like Stephen King would have written. Definitely an adult book Liked the narrator. Did a good job.
Fun twist on the LitRPG with an anti-hero. The narrator is not good…he sounds more computer generated that when he tried to mimic a computer voice. Other than that, the story was fun and a little formulaic…underdog gets power, responsibility and is guided by a old mage…yawn. But done well and is a good listen.
This book is amazing and so funny. The characters are wonderful and they are written so well you care what happens to them. The only thing I do not like is that the third book is not on an audio platform yet well as far as I have been able to see. Audible has not..
Story is interesting. Narrator ruins the story with terrible range and obnoxious pauses and inflections. Will avoid books narrated by David Stifel in the future.
I can’t get enough of Jason and his kin’s struggles and triumphs. looking forward to Frank’s side story.
this 2nd in the series picks off immediately from the cliff-hanger of the 1st. it also ends in a cliff-hanger, my only complaint of either. MANY plot twists throughout, but our protagonists remain true to our hopes, even in there hopeless situations. Highly recommended story, good narrator, and I hope, a spectacular finish coming.
