Absolutely loved the new installation of this series. A completely different scenario, to keep the adventure fresh. Multiple readers make it feel like those involved are telling the story. Yeager reader gets the accent and pulls you into the story, which was even more interesting than expected. Colorful language makes it fun.
It might seem a minor problem, but when a story teller necessarily adopts the voice of an expert historian by taking on the important role of his reader, he mispronounces well-known names to the detriment of the reader’s trust in the book. Great book. Left me wishing there was more. I thought I knew all of his story, but there was alot more to it than just breaking the sound barrier. Highly recommend!
This is more of loosely connected collection of short stories than a continuous coherent narrative. This wouldn’t be a problem if the stories were particularly interesting, but most of them are just the main character exploring his (or her depending on how far along you are in the story) mental hangups.
