Charlie is not a Space Pirate in this book and there are no dragons burning modernized spaceships in space battles. There are definitely some great moments and a great amount of world building that pulls you in. A lot of possibility and cool ideas but after a while I lost interest and connection to Charlie.
I am tired. The story is a continuous whin. Zee continuously whins about all the things he gets mixed with battles that are always against overwhelming groups and the endless description of how desperate the battle is and how unsure Zee is about how he will act. Then some how he miraculously wins. No joy,..
In general I enjoy the book, however – the narration of some of the actors, particularly one lady who tends to over intonate, at children book levels – is making it difficult to listen and enjoy. I have either stop listening to recover and rest, or skip these poorly narrated chapters entirely.
I just can’t with the narrator at all. So bland and boring. I felt little to zero emotion in the performance. Story was ok. Felt like the background part of the story had something going but the MC was either scared, whining or an idiot it felt like the whole time. Made it to chapter..

Balance maybe.I searched for other books by him but this seems to be it so far. For all its cliches, it still carries you..
This was a book I started to read in print and never finished. But being an audiobook that required less attention allowed me to get farther into it until I got invested in the story.Despite being a contract killer, the MC is likeable. It’s predictable in some ways, but in ways I like. It’s just..
After wasting an eternity on bios of seemingly everyone on the plane I assume the book will get around eventually to the ditching of the plane in the sea as illustrated on the cover. If anyone gets that far let me know how it ends. 99% filler! Good narration though.
I was so looking forward to this book after listening to Wrong Text, Right Love was about Nyx and Nate’s sister and brother. We met these two in that book and the banter and attraction were off the charts. Now on to the slow burn to their forever. Nyx is a workaholic and Nate is..
