Really well written and performed creepy story. This was my first experience with this author and I definitely want more! Off to look for more like this.
Really enjoyed this, and the way the author weaves the global with the personal stories is really special.
The story is okay except that it has too much feminism in it. I don’t care for it. The male narrator was great but the female didn’t use the right inflections and made her very adult character sound childish. She also spoke too slow.
It’s wonderful to have more occult books on Audible. Jason Miller includes many practical applications for practitioners today. I have gone back to it multiple times already.
Review of Audible version. This is a tedious listen. I agree with the author’s case. In terms of a story, though, it’s a tedious, almost tortuous listening experience. Even as a read story, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it but at least I could have paged past the most boring parts. Listening doesn’t offer that as..
Narration has a lot of room for improvement. Story has some interesting ideas with some amazing possible solutions outlined, giving the story a hopeful edge. That said, the story seems to completely ignore the cultural push back that would come with many of the life changing solutions. If you thin the US wouldn’t erupt into..
The performance was great as always with Gary Bennett, however the material was lacking. With the world building lackluster and motivations of everyone not the main character being muddy at best I would recommend you pass on this one. The story does not have legs to stand on unless you prefer it being propped up..
I only say this because reading a book I can skip over all those stats that run on for almost three minutes, and yes I know I can skip them on an audio as well but I only listen to books because I’m busy and can’t stop what I’m doing to skip ahead every time..
Very good book with tons of references to old 80’s movies. Sure it’s been done before, but it’s a thrill ride to be sure. A little heavy on the cussing unfortunately.
