Some of the voices were a bit too high pitch and hurt my ears when listening. So that took away from the story.
Starts out as a LOTR parody, then quickly morphs into a cartoonishly wholesome subversion of the high fantasy genre. The whole voice cast and production did a wonderful job bringing the adventure to life, and endearing me to the slimiest and lowliest of the traditionally evil fantasy races: Goblins.
It sound both theaters so, it’s got excellent numbers, acting and story. I really liked the main character. She was very personable and real. She had lots of dimensions to her personality. Like most of the stuff that’s done by soundproof podium all you know what I mean it’s great. I really like the numbers…
The story pacing was solid, and all the different characters were well-written and interesting, though some of the twists were a little predictable. The magic system was well thought out and well implemented into the story. Over all a great book! Can’t wait for the sequel!
Listening Speed 2.5 With all of the 5 star ratings I was expecting more from this story. This is kind of a Young Adult LitRpg. The story isn’t poorly written but has no depth. If your looking for a good LitRpg where the MC is an animal check out Chrysalis.
I listed to it on a whim, but fell in love with it pretty much immediately. It’s engaging and fun from the start, and doesn’t fall into the usual power leveling tropes. It maintains a relatively balanced system with engaging plot and a very interesting world. I really appreciate that when powerful characters show up,..
good humor throughout the story and was fun seeing the characters develop and grow along with their friends
the best narration for a good story! the multiple narrators were all peak! the story was fun and interesting.
i do and did really enjoy this audio book, only gripes i had with it was the initial slowness of his growth/strength with ash or ash’s initial lack of battle prowess even after having rock for a while at that point
