Engaging story, interesting world, and one of the best implementations of “system exceptions” out of any LitRpg book I’ve ever read. Wonderful voice acting, especially Annie Ellicot who steals the show!
Fantastic story line, great characters, puns for days and a cat boy…. maid? What’s not to like about this?
It was like Chuck Norris but for RPG. I was engaged for the entire story. The ending left me quite curious as to what the characters will do next so I will get the next audiobook when it becomes available.
This was such a great start to a series. It’s a unique take on a system type LitRPG, which is done incredibly well. MC and supporting cast are great, as well as likable, not too OP to be boring, and enough flaws to feel real. Finally, the audio cast absolutely crushed it.
Full Disclosure, i’m about 13 hours into this book, with 6 to go, i’m not sure if i’m going to finish. Positives first: Narration is good, there was a weird bit at the beginning where Vex’s voice didn’t have the rapid/distortion and, while he was a little easier to understand, i did not like it…
