Joel Leslie was perfection as the narrator. The world building kept pace with the story. Actions, beliefs, societal norms were covered to explain actions without pulling you out of the book world. The romance was sweet and warm. Now I am off to get the second book. Worth a credit or the Whispersync price.
The performance was always from this reader is outstanding! I have fallen for him now for over 1 yr. But the book was a pity party too much of the time. If not for the pity part it could have been interesting

There were times when it was confusing keeping track of which was talking, with one narrator covering sometimes multiple people in a rapid conversation, especially towards the end. Joel Leslie delivers this Alice winters book perfectly. What our world would look like if people with special “gifts” were more accepted and normal in society. It’s both wonderful and terrifying when that power is used for evil. The 2 mcs in this were simply fantastic with hilarious banter and a beautiful connection. Can’t wait..

This was a rough listen. Some of the voices were like razors on my ears. I feel like the story had potential but it fell flat. It was such an interesting concept but I feel like it was ruined with common old fashioned tropes and stereotypes.
