I adored this story from the first time I’ve read it, and it’s one of my rereads — a comfort read. I swear NR Walker can never write anything awful. She just seems to nail it every time, giving us more favorite reads. Five star all the way.
the narrator left something to be desired made characters sound slow and uninteresting when all through the series they sounded normal
This book was an awesome second addition to the folk series. Now that the plot has thickened, things escalate and it will grip you attention especially as it intertwines the pov of ash and Lonan. If you liked the first book, you’ll love the second.
I loved the audio it is so what I told they sounded like. I love to read the books but the audio adds something.
What I liked was how the author wove new threads about vampires that was subtle but was easily accepted.
the themes were too obvious and redundant, the heroine’s self-doubt exhausting and irritating. title should be Overreact Much?
It isn’t the most original thing ever, but it’s excellent writing and pacing. the narrator is outstanding, and he makes the characters come to life.
It’s not a bad story. Not really my jam, but the book itself and the characters are well written. All in all, it’s an entertaining, low stakes, pallet cleaning afternoon listen. One of Joel Leslie’s better narrations imo, and I’m not a Joel Leslie fan, so that’s saying something. Anyway, this book isn’t gonna change..
