Spring Strings is the perfect example of a snarky, previously semi-peripheral MC who was kind of disliked but absolutely steals the show and melts your heart. Seriously, total and complete mush. An enjoyable, mostly light-hearted start to a fantasy series. I prefer the “Unconventional Heroes” series (such as “Two Necromancers, a Bureaucrat, and an Army of Golems”), which is set in the same universe, but this wasn’t bad.

This story was amazing. I loved the emotion that was conveyed in this book. Arlo and Jack were completely adorable and I love that they finally pulled their heads out of you know where and realized they were in love with each other.
