Sometimes I think Joel Leslie was made to narrate Lily Morton’s books. He seems to grasp the British snark and sarcasm and the humour, more than any other narrator does. I loved the book and now I cherish the narration of it. A well earned 5 stars wgich should have been ten stars.

This made me laugh out loud multiple times and the people at my work thought I was crazy. Worth it. The snark is so ok point, which is a given with Alice Winters. I wasn’t sure about the narrator at first, but he grew on me and by the end I was fully on board…
This is a perfect start to a series. The characters are super lovable, there’s a twist you don’t see coming, and lots of shenanigans along the way. I will definitely be listening to the rest of the series!

My kids loved this story. We listened to it on a road trip. It kept them engaged from start to finish.
If given the chance I’d read this book again without the narrator. The drol tone feels snobbish and middle-aged compared to how Valroy is characterized in the book. Abigail is given opportunity to grow as our “hero” but her character building is undermined by her lack of agency and I’m left thinking she’s another dumb..

I have this series for years, and relisten to it often. The author does an amazing job intertwining the main characters, 2nd characters and all every one else. The story is engaging and keeps you occupied to the very end.Joel Leslie does a masterful job with all the voices.
