Another terrific performance by Joel Leslie. Another terrific story in the series. This is my favorite.
If you thought a gay, Jewish, possibly autistic protagonist from New Jersey would treated with any modicum of subtly by the voice actor-you’d be wrong. It’s a cute story. The terrible accent and voice inflections for the character of Alden are offensive and make it unbearable to listen to. I had to stop and read..
I read Gideon a long time ago, and I was fortunate to get to listen to the audio. I already how wonderful Gideon is. This is my first time listening to Joel’s narration, all I can say it was very British. Luckily Gideon is a British author’s story. So, it’s like seeing it with eyes..
A beautifully narrated story about a homeless man, a kid , and a mobster. This story contains violence and threats of violence and is well written and at times enthralling. if you are looking for an escape from reality for a few hours at a time , do try this book , you may love..
Such a beautiful story,! I found my self going through all the emotions with the characters. I never wanted it to end.
Not as charming as the first book in this series, it was an enjoyable read. Finding a book to set an interracial gay couple into this time period is quite surprising. I especially enjoyed the boxer and his strong sense of community. A few elements stretched imagination a bit, but overall it was a good..
I’ve read so many Regency romances, and finding this one featuring two men was fabulous. I enjoyed the children and how the rigid ship’s captain cracked open into love and family. Very real characters you have to cheer for. Thoroughly enjoyed!
Loved this story. The storyline was sooo good. Gideon has everything from Money to fame but has to hide the biggest part of himself. Eli is sun shine and butterflies and Gideon doesn’t understand him. They make a interesting and sometimes fun couple. Great listen. Narration was great.
This is the third book I read/listened from Bill Konigsberd. Previously I heard the audiobooks Openly Straight and Honestly Ben. I like this book because it brings up the hardships of the lgbt teens and their family and friends in an delicate and profound way. Even though we do not find out how the relationship..
Saw the good reviews and thought I would give it a try. Couldn’t get into the story and definitely didn’t enjoy this narrator. Please don’t let him try and do a females voice…. awful.
